Clinical governance is the overarching term we use to describe clinical excellence and good quality practice.

We measure the effectiveness of our clinical governance using these parameters:

  • We annually appraise all doctors and nurses – the former will need to revalidate on a regular basis, in line with the General Medical Council (GMC) procedures
  • We were one of the first OH providers to appoint a Responsible Officer as a designated body
  • We provide monthly returns to the Strategic Health Authority as a designated body, who has rated us 'Green' – with no outstanding actions needed
  • We provide six-monthly returns to the Revalidation Support Team
  • Our management reports are all peer reviewed
  • All doctors and OHNAs have their reports and clinical notes audited on an annual basis
  • We audit reports from network doctors twice a year
  • We annually audit all OH sites to measure quality
  • We issue all management reports with a satisfaction survey for managers to complete electronically
  • A written complaints process is in place with specific complaints managers
  • We have written procedures and manuals in place to cover all aspects of OH practice
