Medical Records and IT
As employees medical records are defined as sensitive personal data under the Data Protection Act (DPA), these records should be held and maintained by qualified medical staff and not made available to personnel within your company.
Our Clinical Services Team takes responsibility for maintaining these records centrally, securely and confidentially in accordance with the DPA and the Access to Medical Records Act.
Key to providing you with a timely and efficient service, is the use of IT systems and procedures which we have developed in conjunction with a leading provider of HR back office systems. We are able to reduce our administration costs by computerising medical records and simplifying the data collection, co-ordination and recalls associated with medical referrals, PEHQs and health surveillance.
Clients also have restricted access, using My Portal, to their employees management reports, health surveillance status, outcome data reports, other reports provided by our on site nurses and recalls/other appointments currently in the diary.
Further information on keeping medical records, and on employees rights and consents are available on our client site. To receive a guest password, please click here.
