Health Surveillance

All employers are legally obliged to provide a safe workplace. But many employers look to provide more than just the minimum regulations. Our objective is to reduce employees’ exposure before chronic or permanent ill health occurs.

We will review your risk assessments to establish whether you are carrying out appropriate Health Surveillance in relation to:

Chemical Agents
Biological Agents
Physical Agents

and advise you on compliance with:

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Act 1994 (COSHH)
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations

We first make recommendations on the health surveillance needs of your business, in particular their type and frequency and then we take responsibility for ensuring that it is delivered in the most cost effective way. This may be through the provision of an on site nurse or by periodic visits from a nurse/ occupational physician.

Our clinical staff will monitor employees exposed to the identified hazards and record their health status. This is done using regular tests such as:

Lung Function
Dermatology
Audiogram (Hearing)
Hand-Arm Vibration

We will also take responsibility for establishing recalls, collecting outcome data and providing regular reports to management. These are also available on line to clients using “My Portal”.
