Our Approach to Managing Sickness Absence

We provide you with a tailored clinical service that your HR department can use to control sickness absence. We will advise you and provide support in three key areas:

We will first appoint you with a Chief Medical Officer, a senior Consultant Occupational Physician, who will advise you on reducing sickness absence particularly in relation to your policies, training line managers, using IT to identify absence, risk management etc. We will also provide you with telephone support through out the year, so you are able to discuss all matters relating to ill health in the workplace with your Chief Medical Officer.

Your Chief Medical Officer is responsible for managing our Clinical Services Team, who administer and report on Medical Referrals and are responsible for providing on site nursing when relevant. They manage our national network of 200 experienced occupational physicians who are available to support us when carrying out medical referrals. This allows us to provide you with a consistent level of service across the UK and Ireland, which is managed centrally.
