Cost of Sickness Absence
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development survey in 2009 found the average cost of sickness absence per year is now £692 per employee, with each employee taking an average of 7.4 days off each year.

Across the UK absence costs the economy £17.3 billion per year.

Their annual poll concluded that the provision of OH is now recognised by employers, across all sectors, as one of the most important weapons in their armoury for tackling both short and long term absence.
